"The Song of Solomon" Set to Premiere in Los Angeles on Friday the 13th

Unearthed Films recently send the horror chamber information for the L.A. premiere of "The Song of Solomon". The upcoming film stars Jessica Cameron, Gene Palubicki and David McMahon.

The screening will take place at the Five Star Bar in Los Angeles, CA. on July 13th. Doors open at 7:30pm and Screening stars at 8pm PST.

The screening starts at 8:00 PM and the doors open at 7:30. After the screening, there will be a Q&A with Stephen Biro, director of THE SONG OF SOLOMON, with cast and crew. Then the VIP Death Metal Event is right next door at The Five Star Bar, a one minute walking distance from the theater. Gene Palubicki, one of the stars of THE SONG OF SOLOMON and lead Guitarist of Angel Corpse will be coming in with his band, Perdition Temple from Tampa, Florida; fresh from the Maryland Deathfest. This one-time event will blow minds and damage ears.

If that isn't enough, we have Void Ceremony coming in from San Diego with members from Ascended Dead in their line up, also fresh off The Maryland Deathfest. And if you want more, we have San Francisco favorite Infernal Damnation joining the set along with Diabolos which a a local fan favorite.

Review: "Red Eye"

Man, 2018 starts off with a bang. First “Victor Crowley” was released on blu-ray and that film was great. Now there’s another film that recently was released that which didn’t have the level of fanfare as “Victor Crowley” but definitely deserves your attention. I’m talking about the shocking film “Red Eye”. This was a film that I was looking forward to since watching the first trailer for it as it left me wanting to see this for better or worse.

The film is about a director (Scott King) who is obsessed with the legend of Red Eye. He and some of his friends (Destinie Orndoff, Heather Dorff and Hayden Wilberger) go to the woods to film a documentary based of the red eye legend. They’re there to find out if the myth is true or just something made up. But filming takes an unexpected turn when there are stalked by a mad man. Is this the real legend stalking them or a copycat killer out to end their film? “Red Eye” also co-stars Jessica Cameron.

Once in a while, I’ll come across an indie horror film where it has a killer trailer then not hear about it again for a while because it takes a while for these films to get distribution. When it comes time to see it, you’re left disappointed or something is good but it was missing something. This wasn’t the case with this film. “Red Eye” is a very gory and shocking film that leaves you horrified.

First time director Tristan Clay does a very good job making sure directing is very good something that isn’t seen from many first time directors. From the dark look of the film to the way that he approaches filming the death scenes, everything works so well that it generates a horrific reaction as this is very gory and looks very professional from both a filming and special effects perspective for a first time film. The gore effects here are great. It helped makes sure the film disturbing considering the short running time. Another thing he does very well is making sure that the performances are very good. Whether it’s the way that he gets his cast to be interested in the material to making sure that there’s chemistry on onscreen, it made the performances very good where it shouldn’t been for a first time film.

The film also has some strong lead female performances from Destine Orndoff (who’s also co-wrote the film’s screenplay) and Heather Dorff. Each of the actresses both handled the dramatic aspects of the film very well as the dialogue was very serious and sometime disturbing. They both managed to make their characters stand out from the male characters with the way that they approached their characters. It added something to this film as it makes the first part of the film worth watching and not like other typical slashers when you’re waiting for the action to takes place.

The screenplay written by Clay and Orndoff was surprising different from what I expecting. Going into this, I thought that this was going to be a straight up slasher but I was surprised that there was a level of depth in the characters that I don’t see in many of these film. They did a great job making sure that you had backstory to these characters and accomplish it in a short time span. It made the characters interesting and gave the film its serious and disturbing tone as. The other thing that makes their screenplay very good is was the way they thought out the death scenes. They came off as very bloody and horrific. It’s hard to do that with most slashers as the deaths come off as cartoony but these had a shocking feel to them when you see them onscreen. It made those scenes a little cringe worthy to watch. When that happens, then you know that it worked effectively like in this film.

This was a great and disturbing film from start to finish as gorehounds will like this film. “Red Eye” which is a more serious, disturbing and gory film that shocks you. “Red Eye” is an intense and gory film that will make you question your passion as it earns The Horror Chamber’s Seal of Approval.

Terror Films recently released stills for their upcoming release of "Red Eye". The film stars Destinie Orndoff, Scott King, Heather Dorff, Hayden Wilberger and Jessica Cameron.

Terror Films has acquired the worldwide rights to Tristan Clay's demented indie horror flick RED EYE. The first phase of the release is set to land on digital platforms, Friday, February 9th. This genre distributor is sharing the official poster, trailer and several stills - ahead of the film's upcoming release.

The film is based around “The Legend of Red Eye.” This myth covers a violent, deranged masked murderer, who dwells in the backwoods of Black Creek, West Virginia. Gage Barker (Scott King), a young man who grew up on the tales of Red Eye as a kid, learns that there could be some truth behind these folk tales. With a group of his friends and his camera equipment in tow, they hike into the woods to seek him out or to prove that he is nothing more than a myth. RED EYE, directed by Tristan Clay, stars a large cast and the film has won several awards. Destinie Orndoff, Scott King, Heather Dorff and Hayden Wilberger centrally star. As well, RED EYE was nominated for “Best Feature,” “Best Director,” “Best Producer,” “Best Actress (Heather Dorff),” “Best Actor (Scott King)” and “Best SPFX” at the San Antonio Horrific Film Fest (2017).

The film is not for those with a weak stomach and contains some graphic and violent scenes. The film is so gory that Terror Films had to request that the filmmaker remove at least one moment in the story or risk having the film rejected by major digital platforms. Terror Films President Joe Dain says of the violence: “it’s a film for the true gore driven horror fans tired of the glazed over, more commercial horror fair we see coming out of the major studios.” This film is for true horror fans, everywhere!

RED EYE will be available on several digital, North American platforms. Platforms include: iTunes, Amazon, Vudu, Google Play, and Xbox Live. Also, there are plans for a DVD release. As well, RED EYE will expand to worldwide markets through: iFlix, iTunes and Amazon International, soon.

The film stars Jessica Cameron (Truth or Dare, American Guinea Pig: Song of Solomon), Carlo Mendez (Parks and Recreation, The Bay), Ryan Kiser (Truth or Dare, In Harms Way) and Ali Ferda (An Ending, The Sleeper).

Scream Queen Jessica Cameron has just announced that her latest project, An Ending, which she will produce and co-direct with screenwriter Josh Chiara, begins shooting at the end of April.

Jessica Cameron will also star in An Ending as Florence, a woman who wakes up in a nightmare world after being rushed to a hospital for unknown reasons.

An Ending also stars Heather Dorff as Collette, a woman who has been in the nightmare world much longer than Florence, and Ali Ferda as Molly, a woman coming to terms with crushing guilt.

As the three women are stalked through the corridors of the nightmare world by something lurking in the shadows, they are split apart, and each finds herself on her own personal journey.

Josh Chiara previously worked with Jessica Cameron as DP on her film Mania, which just won its tenth film festival award. Heather Dorff acted in Jessica Cameron's debut feature Truth or Dare, and the two star alongside each other on Scream Queen Stream, a weekly variety show that airs online. Ali Ferda stars alongside Jessica Cameron in Desolation, which was shot as part of the Kill the PA road trip and is currently in post production.
