Press Release:
VAMPBLADE is having quite the year. After guest starring in Action Lab’s runaway hit series ZOMBIE TRAMP and co-headlining the aptly titled ZOMBIE TRAMP VS: VAMPBLADE miniseries, the latex clad, sword wielding other-dimensional monster slayer is spinning off into her own insanely fun ongoing series.
Created and written by ZOMBIE TRAMP co- writer Jason Martin (Night of the 80s Undead, Super Real), with art by Zombie Tramp VS: Vampblade artist Winston Young, VAMPBLADE is a fun send-up of the “bad girl” comics of the 1990’s. When a young comic shop employee is transformed by mystical blades into a walking talking (and slicing & dicing) 90s comic book bad girl, she must quickly learn how to survive the new grotesque world the blades reveal. Now, other-dimensional parasites hidden all around us resembling the “space vampires” from the fictional 90s comic, Vampblade, are all too real, and out for her blood!
Fans and retailers will get an early look at the new VAMPBLADE series when it debuts at this year’s Halloween Comicfest, with Action Lab: Danger Zone's HCF offering, VAMPBLADE FEATURING ZOMBIE TRAMP. Which features an extended preview of the first issue of Vampblade, as well as a brand new Zombie Tramp story by creator Dan Mendoza.
VAMPLBLADE #1 is in this month’s Previews catalog (Diamond order code: NOV151004) and is set to ship in January 2016. Issue one will feature seven variant covers by series artist Winston Young, TMChu (Zombie Tramp), Zombie Tramp creator Dan Mendoza, Jerry Gaylord (Bill and Ted's Most Triumphant Return), and a special “90s Cheesecake” Risqué variant cover by Andrew Mangum (Evil Ernie). Retailer exclusive covers are also available; please contact your Diamond representative.
