Troma Entertainment recently announced that they've acquired the film festival favorite "Revenge of the Spacemen". The film has played at the Ohio Independent Film Festival and won three awards, including Outstanding Sci-Fi Comedy, the movie was also an Official Selection for Terror Film Festival, ZEDFEST and Cinema Wasteland! Other festivals that featured Revenge of the Spacemen include Horror Hotel, Cinema Wasteland and GenCon! Troma Entertainment, Inc. has just acquired critically acclaimed tribute to classic alien invasion movies from the baby-boomer era, Revenge of the Spacemen, which was written and directed by Jay Summers. The film is the directorial debut by Summers, who drew aesthetic inspiration from the 1950's and 60's Twilight Zone episodes and other extra-terrestrial masterpieces like, Teenagers from Outer Space, with a hilarious and modern twist!
Revenge of the Spacemen descends onto earth in a flying saucer, leaving a few witnesses in a small redneck town in a state of shock. Unable to convince other backwater locals that what they saw was more than a hallucination, the witnesses embark on a mission to find proof of the extraterrestrial invasion. When the gang turns up a couple of missing backwater cretins who recount their tales of anal-probed alien abduction, compounded with a seriously out of this world case of gas, townspeople finally start to BELIEVE. The noxious gases go from unbelievable to unbearable, and it takes a boozy backyard standoff to eradicate the extraterrestrial BDSM terror!
